You are at the official site of the Darwin Ramos Association which is governed by the French Law of 1 July 1901. The mission of the Darwin Ramos Association is to make known the life of the Servant of God Darwin Ramos and to raise funds to sustain Darwin’s cause for beatification and canonization.
The Darwin Ramos Association is the primary player of the cause for beatification and canonization of the Servant of God Darwin Ramos. It promotes the cause for beatification and canonization to inquire about the heroic virtues of the Servant of God Darwin Ramos and assumes the moral and economic responsibilities of the association. The association nominates the postulator.
Why is the association French whereas the request for the opening of the cause for beatification and canonization was made in the Philippines?
Soon after the death of Darwin Ramos, two biographies were published, one by Rev. Fr. Matthieu Dauchez (Plus fort que les ténèbres [Stronger than Darkness], Paris, Artège éditions, 2015) and the other by Fr. Daniel-Ange (Prophètes de la beauté [Prophets of Beauty], Montrouge, éditions du Jubilé, 2016).Because of these books, Darwin Ramos’ reputation of holiness quickly spread in France so that it was only natural that an association was created in France to initiate and support the cause for beatification and canonization. However, under the law of the Catholic Church, the cause must be opened in the diocese where the Servant of God died. Darwin Ramos died in Quezon City (Philippines), so, the request to open the cause for beatification and canonization was done in the diocese of Cubao (Philippines).
Can one be a member of the Darwin Ramos Association?
- Active members are those who commit to pay an annual membership fee of 12 US$.
- Honorary members are those who render exceptional services to the association. They are exempted from paying membership fees.
- Benefactors are those who pay an initiation fee of 57 US$ and an annual fee of 12 US$ which is set each year at the general meeting.
